MAKING A DIFFERENCE - PASSION WITH COMPASSION

Bangalore, 6th August 2016: ‘‘At school we encourage our students to passionately pursue the search for excellence, be it in academics or other activities. At the same time, it is essential to realize that one’s quality of life cannot improve if that of others does not do so as well. Therefore, compassion and concern for those around us, and those less fortunate must be an intrinsic part of one’s character’’, said Ms. Geeta Shankar, Director, Brigade Foundation.

She was addressing media on the occasion of the ‘Mega Santhe’ conducted by the senior students of the Brigade School at J P Nagar.

This year, the students of The Brigade School @ J P Nagar conducted “FLASH @ BRIGADE – THE OPEN STREET MEGA SANTHE”, on Saturday 6th August.

All proceeds will be used towards building new ‘Shauchalaya’ for Sree Ramana Maharishi Academy for the Blind. Conducting an event of this magnitude, hones organizing, planning and marketing skills in students.

The Santhe had delicious food, pretty merchandise, games and much more. Colourful and interesting stalls had lined the Brigade Millennium Avenue Road and the school premises, opposite MLR Convention Centre, J P Nagar.

The senior students of Brigade School, J P Nagar visit Shree Ramana Maharishi Academy for the Blind (SRMAB) every Friday to spend meaningful time with the children. They help in various areas like reading to them, assisting them in Braille work, organizing sports and other annual events. This quality time helps them to realize how fortunate they are and gives them a learning experience to ‘care and share’.
