What Is Ashwagandha?
India 23 October 2016: Ashwagandha (indian ginseng) is a small shrub which belongs to the Solanaceae family. The shrub is native to the Indian subcontinent and is also found in the Middle East and North Africa. The ashwagandha plant is a flowering plant which bears flowers and small fruits like berries. The flowers of this shrub have a yellow center and small green petals. The seeds of ashwagandha are smaller than a centimeter and look like those of berries. The roots structure of this shrub is similar to that of a carrot, which is long and thick structure. For more than 3,000 years Ashwagandha is used in Ayurveda for its medicinal properties.
