The competition is a free, global, online investment simulation for high school students from Class 9 to Class 12. Schools from UAE, Turkey, Egypt, Laos, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, China, Vietnam, Bahrain and many parts of India have registered for the competition.

The South Asia and Middle East Region Finale, followed by the announcement of winners and prize distribution will take place at BrainGain Magazine’s student session during the One Globe Forum on February 11, 2017 in New Delhi.

Harjiv Singh, Founder & publisher of BrainGain Magazine said, “We are overwhelmed with the exponential increase in the number of students that have registered for the Knowledge@Wharton Investment Competition this year. Through currency demonetization, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent out a strong signal on the significance of digital transactions and a cashless economy. Investment competitions like these supplement such initiatives by promoting digital literacy and giving the youth an evolved platform to practice digital transactions using virtual cash.”

Elaborating on some of the other recent initiatives taken by BrainGain Magazine, Harjiv adds, “Over the last six years, BrainGain Magazine has emerged as a credible source of information and tips for students planning for international education. You will find first-hand insights and guidance from renowned people like MS Dhoni, India’s International ODI Cricket Captain; Oscar winner Ben Kingsley; Bollywood Director Anurag Kashyap; and, Los Angeles Times Editor Mitra Kalita among many others. Our weekly “Word Nerd” blog series on Mondays prepares you for the correct English grammar and vocabulary needed in global communication for studying abroad. International high school students will also find a monthly expert column which gives tips on applications for seeking admission in U.S. universities, shortlisting the colleges, writing essays and so on. From time to time, we also bring to you live sessions with global experts such as Dr. Sethuraman "Panch" Panchanathan, Executive Vice President and Chief Research and Innovation Officer at Arizona State University.”

Founded in 2010, BrainGain Magazine has approximately 6.4 million hits, and partners with KWHS for sending high school students to the KWHS Global Young Leaders Academy. Just recently, BrainGain Magazine conducted a Facebook live session with its founder & publisher, Harjiv Singh on the effect Donald Trump’s presidency would have on international students wanting to study in the U.S. Harjiv answered questions from BrainGain Magazine’s readers during the session. A few months ago, BrainGain Magazine had also run a humor web video series, “Trust Lucky, Get Lucky” that showcases the comical misadventures of a ‘student exporter’ named Lucky Lakhanpal to expose the admission scams being run by fraudulent agents.
