Benefits of Garlic for skin
1. Garlic (Lasun) Treats acne, Pimples, and Scars
It might surprise you, but Garlic work wonders for your skin. The antifungal properties of allicin in garlic help you get rid of Acne, pimple and their scars within a short time. You can add a few drops of garlic oil to a mud pack and apply this mud pack on your face. Let it sit there for 10 minutes and then wash it off using cold water. Repeat this process daily to treat acne and scars. Cut a fresh piece of garlic clove and apply a little pressure on the pod to make it release some juice. Now rub this garlic clove onto the area affected by acne, pimples and scars. Leave the juice on the affected area for 5 minutes and then wash it off with cold water. This will to reduce the redness and swelling within a day. This remedy also helps in prevention acne spots on your skin. Another good way to get rid of acne using garlic is to mix the juice made from 2-3 cloves of garlic with an equal amount of white vinegar. Apply this mixture on the affected area. The garlic in this mixture fights the acne causing germs, while white vinegar helps in maintaining the skin’s pH levels. If you don’t like the smell of garlic, then peel a few garlic cloves and crush them. To the crushed garlic cloves add half teaspoon of honey and 2 tablespoon of yogurt and make a smooth mixture. Apply this paste all over your face and wash it within 20 minutes. To get rid of acne scaring and blemishes, make a paste by taking 4-5 pieces of peeled raw garlic and whacking each one with a mallet so that it breaks open. Do not mince this completely. Boil 250 ml of water and as soon as it comes to a boil, add the garlic. Boil the garlic for 30-35 minutes and make sure that the garlic is always submerged in water. When the garlic has finished boiling, let it cool till it is lukewarm. Now use your mallet or a rolling pin to make a garlic paste and apply this paste liberally on your entire face. The boiling ensures that the garlic is not too strong for the skin.
2. Garlic (Lasun) Cures Psoriasis
Garlic contains a large amount of antioxidants like zinc, allicin and selenium that decreases the oxidative stress and inflammation in patients suffering from psoriasis. To cure skin problems like psoriasis just sprinkle a few drops of mildly heated garlic oil on a cotton pad and rub the cotton pad on the affected areas of your skin. Repeat this twice or thrice a day.
3. Garlic (Lasun) Removes Stretch Marks
You can’t prevent stretch marks from coming, but using garlic you can definitely make them disappear. To get rid of stretch marks, apply a mixture of crushed garlic juice and hot oil on your stretch marks for a week and you will soon notice your stretch marks disappearing. One of the most commonly used remedy to get rid of stretch marks is Hot oil massage. To make the hot oil massage more effective just add the juice from a few crushed garlic pods and then use it. Use this garlic juice infused oil regularly to massage on your stretch marks affected skin to see them disappear in a few weeks time. You can also choose to use garlic oil instead of garlic juice, but make sure not to add more than half teaspoon of garlic oil. Increasing the consumption of garlic in your daily diet helps to increase the elasticity of the skin which works to prevent the stretch marks.

As garlic is loaded with antioxidants, it helps you prevent all the signs of aging due to its ability to fight free radicals. It also prevents wrinkles and makes your skin look youthful and flawless. The most common problem in ageing skin is Enlarged pores. To reduce these pores you need to make a paste of half a tomato and 3-4 pods of garlic. Apply this paste on your face and let it sit there for 20 minutes. Wash your face with lukewarm water and then give a final splash of cold water to seal the open pores. Tomato and garlic both are known to have antiseptic properties which help in unclogging the skin, minimizes pores and tightens the skin. Alternatively consuming raw garlic daily also works to protect the skin from damages caused by free radicals, oxidation, and environmental stressors that eventually results in wrinkles.
5. Garlic (Lasun) Blackhead and Whitehead Removal
This is one such problem that almost all of us hate and is pretty common in people with oily skin. Take 2-3 crushed garlic cloves, add 2 drops of tea tree oil and ½ tbsp lemon juice and honey. Mix well and form a thick paste. Apply it onto the affected area and rinse it off after 3-4 minutes. Applying this mask three times a week to see a visible reduction in blackheads and whiteheads.
