Rajan Loomba, Sr Executive Chef, The Ashok conferred ICF Golden Hat Award at 13th Annual Chef Awards 2016

New Delhi, 15 November 2016 Celebrating International Chef Day, the Indian Culinary Forum (ICF) organised 13th Annual Chef Awards 2016 at The Ashok hotel to honour chefs for their contribution to the hospitality industry. Every year Chef awards are hosted by Indian Culinary Forum (ICF) in association with the apex body - Indian Federation of Culinary Associations and World Association of Chef Societies.

Chef Rajan Loomba, Chief Executive Chef of The Ashok (A flagship property of ITDC) was awarded with ICF Golden Hat Award at 13th Annual Chef Awards 2016. Whereas, Chef Jitender doubled the celebration for The Ashok by winning ‘The Kitchen Artist Award’ in the Trade Test Category at the same function.

The objective of the Chef Summit is to create a platform to share knowledge, ideas and experiences and discuss developments in the Indian Food industry. Participants include eminent chefs and leaders of the hospitality industry. The summit  also acts as an educational workshop for young chefs to understand the industry from their seniors and experts. It also brings together the finest gathering of the industry’s most prestigious Chefs.

Reacting to the honour, Chef Loomba said, “The 13th Annual Chef Awards for best chef is a strong validation of my professional capabilities developed during my association of almost three decades with ITDC and specially Hotel “The Ashok. Winning the 13th Annual Chef Award is a great experience and a prestigious one. Indian Culinary Forum is the most prestigious and recognized platforms for our fraternity across the country. I also believe that Awards always help in bringing out young talent, and 13th Annual Chef Awards is the perfect way to do it.

The nominees for the voting round of the Awards were shortlisted by an eminent jury consisting of industry leaders. The winners were felicitated by Shri VK Duggal, former Director General Tourism, Government of India and International Tourism Advisor.

Besides the awards, the evening had some great performances to watch by the group of dancers. Also the grand celebration of Chef Awards 2016 ended with a gala CHEFS’DINNER, which was the contribution from leading Hotels and Restaurants.
