HYDERABAD,MARCH 06, 2017: Hyderabad Runners The "Couch to 5K" training season came to an end on Sunday, March 5th at HiTex grounds, with a 5km run.
As the name suggests, the "couch to 5k"is a 2 month program conducted by Hyderabad Runners to make even people who have never run before, cover a distance of 5km, with ease and at their individual pace. The program incorporates elements of Jogging, Running and Strength training, and is driven by experienced runners, on a completely voluntary basis.
Hyderabad Runners, with its aim of making "running the most preferred form of fitness activity", has been spearheading the "couch to 5k" training program across various locations in the twin cities since the last 3 years. Under the mentorship of senior runners, the tri weekly session is so structured that participants gradually reach a fitness level where they can run 5km with ease, while remaining injury free.
As in the past, the Couch to 5k 2017 season culminated in a "Graduation Day" run with around 400 people, participating with their mentors. All the finishers received a medal and a post run breakfast.
