Vision Viviana Initiative by Viviana Mall to support education of students in need
Mumbai, 18th April, 2017: This summer, Viviana Mall, leading preferred destination mall in Mumbai Metropolitan Region has announced a contribution drive to support education of students in need through its ‘Vision Viviana Initiative’. The aim of the month long drive open till May 15, 2017 is to provide essential stationary and clothes to underprivileged students in the city. The mall has invited interested students and citizens to contribute their old school bags, books, uniforms, water bottles, markers, pens, pencils, erasers, pencil sharpeners, crayons, rulers, calculators, folders, etc and any such stationary or educational products that can help students in their coming educational year.
A study has shown that there are lakhs of children in Maharashtra who are deprived of basic school education. Viviana Mall’s education drive is a step towards reducing these numbers and fulfilling the basic educational rights of every individual.
Speaking about the drive, Ms. Rima Pradhan, Sr. Vice President, Marketing, Viviana Mall said, “Thousands of children remain deprived of their educational opportunities, mainly due to poverty and lack of support. On the other hand after every educational year, students tend to ignore their old text books, paint boxes, crayons, backpacks, stationary, uniforms etc. But, this year, through our Vision Viviana initiative, we are giving them a chance to donate their old belongings to students in need. More than a contribution drive, we wanted to create awareness among citizens that there are many children in our society who are deprived of basic education due to lack of financial support. With this education drive it’s our vision to help such children by filling the gaps and making study materials available to them free of cost. We have roped in various NGOs across Mumbai and Thane to disseminate the proceedings received from the drive to needy.”
Viviana Mall’s Vision Viviana Initiative has always created pathways to support the poverty-stricken children and other citizens in need. Apart from the drive the mall has sponsored girl child education every year since its inception; they have also launched various initiatives like blood donation drive, cancer awareness drive, etc. This drive will certainly help in creating awareness among students this summer.
