Excited about his performance at Adria, Kush Maini said, “After a disappointing run at Misano, I am very pleased to finish among the points in all 3 races here at Adria. The conditions were very challenging in the first 2 races, and required a lot of concentration to stay on track. If I had started up further up field in Race 1, I could have placed higher but I am happy with my 4thplace finish.”

While the second day of the race weekend started off with the first Qualifying session, where Kush Maini ended up finishing in sixth place, qualifying 2 was a tight finish with Kush finishing just 0.294s behind pole sitter Lorenzo, in 9thplace. Race 1 began in dangerous wet conditions, with Maini starting in 11th after incurring a grid penalty in round 1. He started off slow, and gradually made up ground to move into 10th place by lap 6. Some brilliant manoeuvres and overtaking ensured Kush moved up the field and eventually finished an impressive 4th place behind Marcus Armstrong after making up 8 places in slippery conditions. The second race at Adria began behind the safety car with similar dangerous conditions as Saturday. Kush battled it out with Petrov and Fittipaldi all throughout the race for 8th place. A bit of luck with the retirement of Armstrong and Colombo up front, secured 8th place for Kush at the end of Race 2.  Slightly better conditions and a damp track welcomed the third and final race of the weekend. The race was methodical for the Indian Kush Maini, as he fought hard to retain his 8th position throughout and a post-race 10-second penalty to Rodriguez allowed Maini to finish seventh.

The championship now heads to Vallelunga for Round 3 to be held on June 25th 2017.
