Mumbai, 19th June 2017: Godrej Appliances, a division of Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd., one of the largest players in the Home Appliances space in India released an interesting digital film as part of #Dadfixedit campaign this Father’s Day. It is based on a simple insight that while our mothers use home appliances the most, fathers are generally the first ones to fix them when something goes wrong. The film also doubles up as the brand’s after-sales service communication, highlighting how with the Godrej Smartcare promise you never have to worry about the appliance breaking down.

About the film, Swati Rathi, Marketing Head, Godrej Appliances, said, “At Godrej Appliances, while we aim to deliver world- class products backed by innovation and technology, we also set high benchmarks for our service quality standards. This Father’s Day, we identified a fitting opportunity to deliver this message through a simple narrative capturing the brand essence beautifully.”

On the recently launched film, Anu Joseph, Chief Creative Officer, Creativeland Asia said, “This idea gave us the opportunity to go beyond the conventional father’s day communication. The film talks about the great after-sales service that you can expect from Godrej Appliances, while also paying a compliment to dads who are the original repairmen of appliances in our lives."

The film begins with a birthday party setting in a house where half the decorations are done. But, the son is worried that his birthday may not go as planned as he thinks that the fridge has stopped working. He fears the ice cream may melt so he immediately runs to his father knowing fully well that he can fix it. His father then swiftly opens his tool box to locate the screwdriver. All this while, the son keenly looks on and shadows his father in every scene, wanting to be like him someday. The father-son duo are trying their best to figure what exactly must have gone wrong. Just then the mother walks in, takes a look at both of them, looks at the switch and casually turns it on! The father’s thunder was stolen. But he quickly wins back his glory by turning the switch on for the fairy lights to wish his son Happy Birthday! The film closes with the message that when you own something from the Godrej Appliances range, you almost never have to worry about it breaking down.

The brand will engage consumers on Facebook and Twitter through this campaign. In a build up to the campaign, Godrej has also launched quirky teasers on Facebook, with pictures of things dads have fixed, albeit with a funny twist.
