New Delhi, July 02, 2017- The second day of India’s only Travelling Film Festival, Jagran Film Festival, was held successfully today at Sri Fort Auditorium, with huge participation of cinema lovers from Delhi and also, visitors from outside the city. The occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of reputed ‘biography writers’ including leading names such as Yasser Usman, Aseem Chhabbra, Udayan Mitra, Poonam Saxena and Prakash K Ray making it a day full of scholarly rendezvous in various halls at the venue. Manoj Bajpayee enticed the audience, during the special screening of the movie ' Naam Shabana', sharing Bollywood trivia.

In between the literati, the audience was seen cheering loudly for the ‘sports legend’, Sachin Tendulkar, while enjoying watching the documentary ‘Sachin: A billion Dreams’. Tannishtha Chatterjee, the famous Indian actress, who starred in the British Film Brick Lane, also graced the occasion with her presence during the special screening of her yet to be released movie, Doctor Rakhmabai. The film is based on the life of a lady practising doctor, whose story on her fight against gender discrimination, has been retold brilliantly through the movie. It was a rare experience for the audience, and much to their delight, for they were the first ones to watch this movie screened ‘live’ at Jagran Film Festival.

It has been a great start and in days to come we aim to see many film enthusiasts coming to catch the cinema of their choice. The collection of films and workshops this year promises to make the festival bigger and better in every possible way, said Mr. Manoj Srivastava, Strategic Consultant, Jagran Film Festival.

The Moroccan Ambassador H.E. Mr. Mohamed Maliki, from Morocco said, “We are extremely thrilled to be part of Jagran Film Festival and thank them for showcasing our country specific films. This gives us a unique platform to highlight our country and in fact will help us boost the tourism as well. Moreover, we were very excited to see audiences’ love for cinema and the enthusiasm within them to look forward to watching Indian and International cinema.”

Since its inception in 2009, the organisers of this Film Festival have been doing a lot of groundwork to gain traction and attention from cinema-goers belonging to different corners of India and bond them, through movies, on socio-cultural and real life aspects. Their purpose has been met with great success, with many people throughout the country, waiting in anticipation for the next edition of the popular Jagran Film Festival.

Day 2 also saw the screening of some recent Bollywood blockbusters like Agneepath, Pink, and the Ghazi Attack. It also retained its flavour of multi-cultural film affair by showing Black Cat (English) and Pretty Far From Okay in German and English both.

Watch the Jagran Film Festival as it continues to present a treat for cinema lovers by showing unique and popular movies for five days in Delhi.
