Ireland emerges as a leading overseas education destination for Indian students

~ Education in Ireland organized Pre-departure briefing for Indian students ~

~Students and parents came in significant numbers for the briefing to receive information on education, living and work opportunities that lie ahead~

Mumbai, July 4th 2017: Education in Ireland, the government body that promotes Ireland as location for higher education, along with the Embassy of Ireland organized pre-departure briefing sessions in Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai on June 26th, 28th and 30th for students who are planning to pursue their higher studies in Ireland. Parents were also invited to attend.

With approximately 650 students and parents attending the briefings, Mr. Barry O’Driscoll, Senior Education Advisor, Education in Ireland delivered a presentation that captured everything that attendees need to know about Ireland. He covered academics as well as the multitude of opportunities that lie ahead for the students. The event was aimed to better equip the students as they embark upon their new, and potentially life changing adventure. The visa office delivered an in-depth presentation on the visa application process.

The briefing covered important aspects about studying and living in Ireland, further familiarizing and extending confidence to the parents as well as the students. It was a great platform for students and parents as they could ask questions regarding the exciting prospect of moving to Ireland and also got an opportunity to meet other students who will be studying in Ireland.

Education in Ireland initiated these pre-departure sessions to address any queries from students or parents on a one-on-one basis. Ambassador of Ireland to India, H.E. Brian McElduff and Mr. Rory Power, Director, India & South Asia of Enterprise Ireland were also present and were seen engaging with students and parents discussing the plethora of opportunities for career advancement in Ireland.

On this occasion, Mr. Barry O’Driscoll, Senior Education Advisor, Enterprise Ireland said, “This is the fifth year that Education in Ireland has organised pre-departure briefings in various Indian cities. We are now seeing significant increase in Indian students choosing Ireland for undergraduate and postgraduate studies. The briefings are an ideal opportunity for students to meet the Education in Ireland team, and to meet each other, before they embark on their Irish adventure.
