Skills that help conquer the fear of Mathematics

Intelligent Mathematics, dubbed as I-Maths, is a program which focuses on making math fun for children while making "Thinking" a natural extension of the learning process. I-Maths is a revolutionary early learning program that consciously shifts focus from providing children mere Arithmetic or 'number' skills to including many essential mathematical concepts and skills such as observation, logical thinking, reasoning, analysis, synthesis, etc. as part of the syllabus.

I-Maths provides children an ideal platform to learn by systematically guiding them through various modes of learning such as Sensorial, Kinaesthetic and Visual. Such methodologies of learning not only helps keep the process fun filled and interactive but also makes learning deep rooted and lasting.
The objective of the I-Maths program is to create strong fundamental skills in children such as observation, reasoning, analysis, etc. thereby, making thinking a natural extension of the learning process and freeing children from mindless rote learning.

“The Chronicles of Treasure Hunt "is an event conducted by I-Maths on July 16th at Krishna Rao Park, Basavangudi. The intent of this event was to involve the children through play way method to experience the importance of vocabulary and practical mathematics. Instead of just getting the children restricted to classroom learning, Spell Genie and I-Maths programs have collaborated to make the number and alphabet learning interesting and fun filled. The central theme of this event was a treasure hunt, an exercise for both body and mind where children will have to use their logical, problem solving, team work skills to decode the maths and vocabulary puzzles to get the treasure which is "Knowledge" in this case. Parents also had a part to play in this event and they got an idea how their children are performing in a simulated environment. It was a fun filled environment and not a single child was aware that it was conquering Mathematics, making it a child’s play.

Math is taught in the schools but what is special about I maths? The schools focus only on the procedures but not the concepts. At I-Maths, we make sure the child will learn the concept in many ways. Along with that we all know that if the child needs to be good in maths it’s just not the arithmetic but they need to be good in logics and analysis. How to develop these skills? Once these skill sets are strengthened, the understanding of mathematics is more on logic and reasoning than on rote methodology making mathematics not only interesting but also fun. Any form of learning which works towards making learning fun and enjoyable, would work towards eliminating the dreaded aftermath phobia rampant in today’s young learners, the organizers of the event Vijaya & Deepthi were quoted as saying.
