New Delhi, August 25, 2017: Devita Saraf attended the Champions of Change event organized by the NITI Ayog and PM Narendra Modi. She was part of the esteemed panel presenting her views on the Make in India campaign and its futuristic growth curve. In a brainstorming session with the Prime Minister of India, Devita perceived an opportunity for the private sector to start manufacturing components instead of only being aggregators.

Presenting her thoughts on Powering Make in India, Saraf perceived opportunity in India focussing on manufacturing the fundamental components. Taking a cue from our Chinese and Taiwanese counterparts, Saraf suggested first manufacturing the basic products and then moving to integrate the entire supply chain as the industry matures. The same is going to boost the Make in India Campaign, as per Saraf, assisting in cell phone manufacturing, while simultaneously reducing the import of cellphone components.

From the human resource perspective, Saraf seemed to be in the favour of enhancing the fundamental skills of the labour force. From basic skills, the workforce may then move up, with the products becoming more complex. The same will open floodgates of opportunities for the workforce to enhance his income.

Lastly, speaking in the favour of country’s growth and technological edge on the global platform, Saraf proposed focusing on the “ease of business continuity” as much as efficiencies in setting up a business. To the same accord, she believed that the policies and tax rate must be consistent to weather the ups and downs of business growth.

Commenting on her experiences, Devita Saraf said, “It has been an overwhelming and inspiring experience to be a part of the Champions of Change event, powered by NITI Ayog. It is heartening to witness the PM’s commitment towards ushering India into the new era of stellar growth and development, how earnestly he listens to the problems and his openness towards new, fresh and innovative ideas. I truly believe that the entrepreneurs and the government need to work in close tandem, in order to unveil the true potential of India. This event has planted the seeds for the same synergy to transpire and I am affirmative about our tremendous growth in the times to come.”

The event cleared the Government’s commitment towards boosting the startups and MSMEs in India. In addition to Make in India, other panellists shared views on the New India, Cities Of Tomorrow, World Class Infrastructure, Doubling Farmers Income and Fixing Finance.
