The festive time of the year is finally here and we couldn’t be happier! This also means we get more time off from our hectic schedules and can squeeze in a weekend away from the city hustle bustle. Rolling hills, pristine beaches, spectacular waterfalls or beautiful landscapes- What can be the pick for the weekend is a tough choice to make! With plenty options available, we asked television favorites to pick their much loved weekend getaway!

This television heart throb’s go-to destination is the quiet and serene Tirthan Valley. Perched at an altitude of over 1600 meters above sea level he calls it Himachal’s best kept secret. When Rithvik is just looking for some quiet time to get away from the city hustle bustle, the valley is his go-to place for doing absolutely nothing as he relaxes amongst the pine trees in the valley.  And when he is the mood for some adventure, Tirthan is an ideal destination for trekking, fishing, wildlife watching, and discovering under-explored hill villages.

This television diva is a big fan of Rajasthan, which she calls, ‘story-book India’. She feels like she has stepped back in time when she visits places like Pushkar, especially during the camel fair. And of course, the luxury of living like a ‘maharaja’ in the palace hotels, each one more stunning than the other, remains truly unparalleled for her. From the Rambagh palace to Samode palace to the lake palace to even the smallest privately owned ones, Rajasthan has a way of making her feel like a princess. The travel influencer also loves Kerala for its food, massages ancient rituals of Ayurveda, lush green vegetation and the sweet people. Hotels like Coconut Lagoon alongside the backwaters or the Spice Village in Thekkady. Last year itself, she was at the Biennale in Kochi and stayed at the Xandari.

Being a nature junkie, Gaurav’s personal favorite holiday destination is Lonavala. This beautiful hill stations comes alive with green during the monsoons and is a delight during Maharashtra’s ample wet months. Since it’s just a 3 hour drive from the city, he loves to plan a spontaneous trip to rejuvenate himself over the weekend and can get back to the grind on a moment’s notice! He makes it a point to plan a getaway from the city madness for a fun session of golfing almost every Sunday.

Siddhant’s family has a weekend home at Nashik, which makes it his second home away from Mumbai! He’s always impromptu with his travel plans to Nashik and hence it’s on his getaway radar almost every weekend- all thanks to the beautiful weather round the year! He usually heads to Sula Vineyards in the afternoon to unwind, for a glass of wine & some cheese. There is so much uncharted territory around Nashik and the reverse waterfalls at Anjaneri are a sight to behold! The monsoons are undoubtedly stunning, but winters are his favorite for having a barbecue outdoors.

Although Annie’s favorite travel destination in India is Goa, she prefers one of the secluded beaches. She is a complete beach person and loves the idea of exploring the hidden and pristine beaches of Goa, surrounded by swaying palm trees and calm shores.

Within India, Rishikesh is his favorite destination. ‘The river rafting, the weather and camping on the banks of Ganges river is a must do’, he says. Closer to Mumbai, he has stayed at the Sula Vineyards and found it to be a very relaxing weekend getaway. ‘The spa there is a must visit!’, he chimes in enthusiastically.
