Paro Anand, often described as a fearless writer with a big heart, is one of India's top writers for children and young adults -the author of 26 books including plays, short stories, novellas and novels.

The author, Paro Anand attended the Bangalore Literature Festival at The Neev Academy on 15th and 16th of September where she discussed her highly acclaimed books titled:  Like Smoke, Weed, Wingless, No Guns at my Son’s funeral and ‘2’. There was a special performance story telling of her book WINGLESS.

That was followed by a talk on the need for empathy and inclusion through stories for the young. Paro Anand was part of a panel discussion along with fellow writer Ranjit Lal titled “Should we fear the dark?” where they talked about discussing difficult subjects in stories for children along with a student and a parent.

She led a workshop “Writing your Reality – Resolving conflicts by writing” with young teenagers. 10 prize winners will now go through a masterclass led by Paro.

The NEEV FESTIVAL - The Neev Literature Festival featured what was likely the largest exhibition of children’s books ever seen in the city. This exhibition was carefully curated to expose children to new authors, titles and genres, and to complement scheduled workshops, panel discussions, and author talks. Children and parents found enriching and challenging resources for children of all ages from pre-schoolers to pre-university students.

Booksellers and publishers will bring significant and renowned titles to offer the most balanced representation of books across genres, languages, themes and reading levels. The exhibition featured reading spaces and activity spaces to engage and motivate its prime audience — children – into sampling and eventually reading beyond the usually well-marketed though not always enriching literature.
