India 03 November, 2017: Tata Power Solar, India’s largest integrated solar company, won ‘Dun & Bradstreet - Everest Infra Awards 2017’ under Infrastructure Project award for commissioning India's largest solar project under Domestic Content Requirement for NTPC at Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. The 100 MW project is expected to generate nearly 160 million units (kWh) of energy per year and help offset approximately 110,000 tonnes of CO2 in the first year. Spread over 500-acre site and using high quality TIER-1 module and cells manufactured in-house, the project was delivered within 80% of the stipulated timeline and three months ahead of the stringent schedule.

Dun & Bradstreet – Everest Industries Limited Infra Awards 2017, into its 7th edition, felicitates India's leading infrastructure companies and projects across various categories. The nominations are judged on various financial and qualitative parameters and an array of pre-defined project execution criteria by an independent jury. Shri Nitin Gadkari, Honourable Union Minister of Road Transport Highways & Shipping and Water Resources, River Development, & Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of India graced the award ceremony as the Chief Guest.

Speaking at the session, Mr. Ashish Khanna, ED & CEO, Tata Power Solar, said “It is a moment of great pride for us to receive this award. This award is testimony of our excellence in domestic manufacturing and EPC services. The 100 MW plant is the largest DCR project commissioned by us till date and its execution ahead of schedule, as well as performance, demonstrates our commitment towards high quality manufacturing and project execution capabilities.”

The plant is located in the heavily undulated area which was left untouched to maintain the natural ecosystem. The region also falls under the challenging terrain of high wind speed that required robust structure design. Tata Power Solar used innovative design of Balance-of-System (BoS) and cabling, along with optimized selection of evacuation systems to render most optimal technical design. The project, in operation for nearly two years, optimizes processes (internal and external) without compromising on the quality & life of the project and ensures cost competitiveness through value engineering and value analysis at multiple levels.

Aligning with the Government’s ‘Make in India’ mission, this is the biggest solar project commissioned which is made using domestically manufactured solar cells and modules. Tata Power Solar acclaimed for world-class safety management system, delivered the plant with 1.3 million safe man hours and is providing employment to more than 50 local people at the site for operations & maintenance for the future.
