Various industries estimate the growth of the global OTT industry to grow from USD 62.03 Billion by 2020, at an estimated CAGR of 17.2%. The availability of high speed internet has opened up new avenues for OTT applications.The OTT market is poised for exponential growth in India with the entry of international players and several local players joining the fray.

Shiva is the CTO and Co-Founder of Apalya Technologies and is responsible for the company’s technology roadmap, R&D and Engineering. Prior to this he has extensive experience in the field of real-time systems/telecom and Mobile OS technologies. He has worked in the US and Finland (Nokia) through Wipro Technologies on Embedded Systems, GETS Locomotive IFC/IFD locomotive controller unit software units, Symbian/S60 Mobile Operating systems and has extensive exposure across embedded/RTOS & Mobile Operating systems. Shiva started his career on Embedded systems with ICSOFT Bangalore on Motorola 68000 Series based E10 B digital products. His strengths lie in understanding key technologies roadmap in the field of OTT/Video/Audio/Mobile OS.

A voracious reader, he likes history/fiction and spends his free time playing badminton & chess.

Shiva has always believed in having a fundamental approach to solving problems - through understanding of problem statement and through analysis, bringing in missing skills and working out possible solutions in the given context.

Venugopal Iyengar


Chief Operating officer

Venu is a media professional with 20 years of experience across mobile video/OTT, broadcast media and DTH. An engineer, MBA who started out on an automobile shop floor and passing through market research and retail went on to work with brands from Viacom and Disney to Zee and Sun and presently with Apalya, his career has been a hugely, diverse and multicultural journey with organizations of varying sizes and complexities.

Over the years, he has led a variety of functions from platform and solution sales, product and subscriber marketing, content management, brand marketing for marquee brands like Disney, entertainment launches and franchise building right up to consumer research. A strong believer in the holistic approach to business, Venu's strength lies in bringing the pieces together to form the solution.

Vamshi Reddy


Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Vamshi is the CEO and Co- Founder of Apalya technologies& comes with close to two decades of work experience. He quit his job with Cisco systems in the San Francisco Bay area to come back to India and establish Apalya. His prior stints include AT&T and E&Y, USA. Vamshi pioneered mobile video streaming technology almost a decade ahead of the ecosystem and has evolved with it. He led Apalya's efforts in Corporate Strategy and Business Development which made Apalya synonymous to mobile TV in India. His efforts saw Apalya raise capital from marquee investors like Cisco, Kalari, IDG and Qualcomm.

He holds a B.Tech degree from Amravati University and is a fitness freak, believes in marathon innings to reach personal and organization goals. Since its inception as a traditional VAS player, Vamshi has transformed Apalya to a platform as a service (PAAS) business, which is helping the company explore new domains and deliver profitability. Entertainment is a part of his life. Like every Indian, he likes to spend his weekends at movie theatres or consuming content online.

Vamshi believes that hard work and perseverance are the only mantra to success but most people quit when it is just about to happen! He is also passionate about encouraging entrepreneurs and mentors, and invests in small companies.
