Emil Zátopek is the 7th child of his parents. Emil started working at the Bata shoe factory in Zlin when he was sixteen years old. Due to the factory sports coach ordered him and other boys to compete in a race but Emil thought he was not ready for the run and thought he is not fit for the race so he protested.
