Sherina launched her first album Andai Aku Besar Nanti (When I Grow Up)in 1999, under Tantowi Yahya's label Ceepee Productions, when she was 9 years old. After selling more than 250,000 copies, the album achieved Platinum certification and it earned two Indonesian Music Awards for Best Children's Album and Best Child Song.
On the production of the movie Petualangan Sherina (Sherina's Adventure), Sherina's father, Triawan Munaf, partnered with Mira Lesmana and it was directed by Riri Riza and had a wide run across theatres in Indonesia, in 2000. In addition, a second successful record came from the soundtrack of Sherina's Adventure to her. Sales of over 200,000 copies and earnings of $387,000 were reported and it was platinum certified by the end of August, as per the record label Ceepee Productions.
Best Child Song and Best Children's Album, as well as Best Child Singer, were awarded to her for the album Petualangan Sherina at the Indonesian Music Awards. From Bobo on two separate occassions in 1999 and 2000 she was awarded the title of Most Favorite Child Artist.
