Since that point in time, the initiative has been known for allowing access to thousands of detained inmates, and it is currently one of the biggest in the country. Campo made the decision to reduce the salaries of hundreds of Ashland University academic staff in April 2020. Campo projected that individuals whose wages had been reduced would have them restored in the spring of 2021 and that they would get back pay for the amount that their incomes had been reduced. During a recent meeting that was conducted behind closed doors at Ashland University, the faculty senate cast a vote of "no confidence" in the university's current president, Campo.
