In the 1950s, he was a dancer and spent much of his time performing in Las Vegas, where he also got married to a showgirl. The pair eventually relocated to Europe and settled in Rome, where Dante DiPaolo resumed his career as an actor for a number of years. Dante DiPaolo had gotten a divorce by 1973, and was dating singer/ actress Rosemary Clooney, whom he had first met in Hollywood in the late 1940s. In the early 1950s she rose to fame with the track "Come On-a My House". In November of 1997, the couple tied the knot and remained married till Clooney passed away in the year 2002. Dante DiPaolo, was her longtime buddy and a past dancer, at St. Patrick's Church in Maysville, Kentucky.

Towards the close of 2001, Clooney received the news that she had lung cancer. She sang "God Bless America" as her last piece during one of her final performances, which took place in Hawaii around this time and was supported by the Honolulu Symphony Pops. Her last concert took place in December 2001 at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, New Jersey. She had surgery, but despite the extensive care she received thereafter, she passed away six months later, on June 29, 2002, at her home in Beverly Hills. At her burial, her nephew George Clooney served as a pallbearer for her. She was laid to rest at the Saint Patrick's Cemetery in Maysville.

Rosemary was previously married to José Ferrer, a Puerto Rican movie star who was 16 years older than Clooney, went on to marry her twice. On June 1, 1953, in the city of Durant, Oklahoma, Clooney tied the knot with Ferrer for the first time.  In 1954, they relocated to Santa Monica, California, and later, in 1958, they moved to Los Angeles. The couple welcomed 5 kids together, 3 boys and 3 girls. Her sons names are Miguel Ferrer born on February 7, 1955 and passed away on January 19, 2017, Gabriel Ferrer born on August 1, 1957 and Rafael Ferrer born on March 23, 1960. Her daughters names are Monsita Ferrer born on Oct 13, 1958 and Maria Ferrer born on Aug 09, 1956. In 1961, Clooney and Renée Ferrer obtained their first divorce. Ferrer and Clooney's second wedding took place in Los Angeles on November 22, 1964. Nevertheless, the marriage ended in divorce once again while Ferrer was having an affair with Stella Magee, the woman who eventually went on to become his last wife.After she found out about the affair, they divorced again in 1967.

On September 4, 2013, Dante DiPaolo died of pneumonia in Los Angeles at the age of 87 years.

The Star Maker was his debut modest movie appearance, and he played it alongside Bing Crosby when he was only 13 years old. In 1945, he played a role in Ziegfeld Follies alongside Judy Garland. Between the years 1948 and 1950, he appeared in a number of different Broadway productions. Other movies to his credit are The Star Maker in 1939, Chip Off the Old Block in 1944, Venus Against the Son of Hercules in 1963, The Girl Who Knew Too Much in 1963 and others.
