Alex Carey Career
He represents South Australia and the Adelaide Strikers in local cricket. In 2010, he was the captain of the Greater Western Sydney Giants. When the Giants entered the Australian Football League in 2012,he was abandoned by the team and moved back home to South Australia, where he started playing local cricket. In the year 2013 Alex Carey made his first appearance as a specialist top-order batsman, but he didn't do well and was removed. Eventually, he was demoted to the bottom of the batting lineup and assigned to the position of wicketkeeper.
Alex Carey participated in both Australian rules football and cricket as a young teen, and as he grew older, he began to compete at a greater level in football, representing Glenelg in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) reserves contest along with adults by the time he was 15 years old. Alex Carey was selected to South Australia's team in 2008, for the 2008 AFL Under 18 Championships, although he did not appear in any of the matches. He was a member of the 2008 entry of the AIS/AFL Academy. In 2009, he kept on to make progress, representing South Australia in the 2009 AFL Under 18 Championships, as well as securing the SANFL Reserves Premiership with Glenelg.
