Wicked Ride launches ‘Apna Ride’, its utility bike rental brand

Mumbai, December 28, 2015:  Wicked Ride, a luxury bike rental company, has announced the launch of its brand ‘Apna Ride’ for utility bike rentals, targeted primarily at budget conscious bike enthusiasts.

This service would be initially available at Bengaluru, Mysore and Jaipur and bookings can be done through www.apnaride.com

While Wicked Ride would focus on renting high end luxury bikes like Harley-Davidson, Triumph,  Ducati and Royal Enfield, ‘Apna Ride’ would focus on utility motorcycles, electric bikes and scooters.

“After successfully establishing Wicked Ride as a leader and pioneer in the luxury bike rental segment, we wanted to enter the utility bike rental segment and that’s how ‘Apna Ride’ was born,” said says Vivekananda H.R, Co-founder, Wicked Ride. “We see huge potential and opportunity and hope to replicate our success very soon in this segment also.”

“Rentals by Apna Ride would be on hourly basis, daily basis and monthly basis.  One can choose anything. Hourly rentals of electric bike start as low as Rs. 10 an hour,” added Vivekananda H.R.


Headquartered in Bengaluru, Wicked Ride, a start-up, was founded in 2014 by three friends, Vivekananda H.R., Anil G and Varun Agni, who did not find options to rent motorcycles (especially high end luxury bikes) in Bengaluru at the time. Realizing that there is a rather new audience to cater to, they set up a company and started renting bikes starting from Royal Enfield to Harley-Davidson. Qatar, November 28, 2015: DHL, the world's leading logistics group and Official Logistics Partner of the World Touring Car Championship, today recognized Citroën C-Elysée WTCC driver José María López as the winner of the inaugural DHL Pole Position Award. At a special ceremony during the FIA WTCC DHL RACE OF QATAR, DHL Express Country Manager Qatar, Nael Attiyat, handed over the award – a donation to Enseñá por Argentina, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending education inequity for children in Lopez’s native Argentina.

With the fastest qualifying performance at six / seven of the 12 races during the entire 2015 WTCC season, Lopez won the DHL Pole Position Award ahead of Citroën C-Elysée WTCC teammate Yvan Muller, with three / four starts from pole position. His victory seals a historic treble for Lopez and the Citroën C-Elysée WTCC team. He also secured the FIA WTCC Drivers’ Championship in 2015, while Citroen won the FIA WTCC Manufacturers’ Championship.

“Performing strongly in qualification is critically important to any race driver - on every occasion that I started from pole position in 2015, I was standing at the top of the podium at the end of the race. This shows just how important good preparation and a will to win are, whether you’re out on the race track with the Citroën C-Elysée WTCC team or providing logistics services with DHL,” said José María López.

Since the power is taken directly from the engine, the RMC can be utilized while the vehicle is on the move or stand still, for maximum versatility.

Tata PRIMA LX 3128.K HRT (Hub Reduction Tandem rear axle)
The PRIMA 3128.K 19 CuM Scoop is an ideal vehicle for higher productivity in shallow mining and Surface application like Road construction, irrigation. It is fitted with a 6-speed Direct drive gear box, TC 2500 auxiliary gearbox, for better gradeability of 25% a proven Tata RA 109 RR rear axle with deeper RAR of 6.83 for better grade ability, FA 106 front axle for heavy duty application and improved off-road drivability. Mumbai, November 20, 2015: Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) India congratulates Team L.I.F.E (Little Indian Family of Explorers) on the completion of their interesting expedition from Bangalore to Paris by road. Team L.I.F.E comprised of Anand Baid, 38, a film-maker, animation professional and educator at Native Puppets Animations; Punita Baid, 37, a program manager at Native Puppets; Yash Baid, 12, a grade 7 student and an avid football lover; Dhriti Baid, 8, grade 3 student, aspiring foreign language linguist, dancer and their 5th special team member was the comfortable and sturdy Fiat Linea T- Jet.



Team L.I.F.E completed a journey of 22,780 kilometres in 111 days where they travelled through 11 countries and 50 + cities and witnessed some of the stunning landscapes and the beauty that the nature had to offer. They travelled across countries experiencing their culture, ways of life and the different kinds of people. They covered India, Nepal, Tibet-China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Turkey, Greece, Italy, Spain and France.



On this occasion, Team L.I.F.E said, "Prior to the onset of the journey, many raised eyebrows wondering how we were going to pull-off such a long journey in a sedan and that too a 2WD. I think it did wonderfully well, giving us zero stress in terms of maintenance or performance. We feel proud to be able to do this in our Linea."



The Fiat Linea T- Jet with it’s perfectly tuned 1368cc 16 valve T-JET petrol engine that churns out a whopping 114 PS at a mind- boggling 5000 rpm with 207 Nm of torque at 2200 rpm enabled them to cruise seamlessly. Packed into their trusted Linea, they traversed through the scenic Silk Route, the Himalayan mountain range, climbed sand dunes in Western China and experienced the splendid cultural practices of Central Asia. They also visited the world’s largest burning crater called Darvaza which has been burning for over 40 years now.



From visiting the Leaning tower of Pisa in Italy to the Eiffel Towers in Paris, Team LIFE ensured they visit most of the renowned places on their tour. They visited places like Caspian Sea in Iran, the Vatican City, Camp Nou stadium in Barcelona, Palace of Versailles and the Millau Viaduct bridge to name a few. Each stop on the tour comprises of what has come to be known as a ‘Bikerhood Meet’. During these Meets, different heads of several biking groups across the region come forth to sign the Declaration of Bikerhood: this is a scroll that is essentially a pledge to do better for one's nation and planet, and also to embark upon more rides for social awareness, sapling planting, providing clean water and food to the stray animals living in one’s city, etc.

The key aim is to salute those that are already embarking on rides that incorporate the values of social responsibility and safety, whilst also encouraging groups that are not actively participating in such rides, to follow in those footsteps.

For the purpose of this initiative, a web portal will be launched soon after, which will link biking groups across the nation and unite them on one streamlined web platform. This website will grant its members the ability to publish their own blog posts about upcoming rides, while a leaderboard will rank each biking group based on their contributions to society and charity.

Chennai: Keeping in line with the business plans of the company, Isuzu Motors Limited, Japan, has incorporated a new company – Isuzu Engineering Business Centre India Private Limited (IEBCI) in India that will be responsible for R&D and Sourcing related activities. IEBCI will primarily focus on enhancing efficiency and quality levels of Isuzu Motors India’s (IMI) products, enabling the company to achieve 70% localisation at Start of Production (SoP) and 100% localisation in the future. IEBCI will also serve as the specialized hub for sourcing parts for ISUZU’s global operations.

SPECTRE, the 24th James Bond film, from Albert R. Broccoli’s EON Productions, Metro-Goldwyn Mayer Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment, sees the Jaguar C-X75 driven by latest Bond nemesis Hinx in one of the movie’s most iconic high speed car chases. 

Driven by actor Dave Bautista, who plays Hinx in the movie, the C-X75 supercar, named the most advanced Jaguar ever created, was provided by Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) in collaboration with development partner Williams Advanced Engineering.

Chennai, 20th October 2015 : Madras Sterling Round Table 123 together with Madras Sterling Round Table 63 have once again come together for their favourite cause build class rooms for the economically challenged children at Avadi.

The funds are being raised through a car rally ... Lanson Toyota Car Fun Rally 2015, into its 11th year.  Over 250 cars with about 1000 participants [4 per car] hit the roads of Chennai, commencing at the Lanson Toyota showroom at Koyambedu on a clear Sunday morning.

Winding though the various roads and thoroughfares of the city, the Rally wound up at the Lanson Toyota showroom at Pallikaranai, a suburb on the outskirts of the city.

Mr Bhushan Kothari, Secretary, Madras Sterling Round Table 123, said that the Lanson Toyota Car Rally had become an annual feature on the social calendar of the city.

“Round Table India is focussed on building schools / classrooms for children, particularly from the economically challenged sections of the society, Each of the Tables works at building classrooms in a chosen locality and our efforts this year are directed to build classrooms at Suyam Foundation, Avadi”.

Bhushan continued : “What started as a fun activity has also turned out to be hugely rewarding.  Besides providing a fun outing for the family of the participants, the rally also encourages team-building in a very natural and seamless way.

Donning their Sunday best, the families of the participating Tablers turned up in good numbers ... to cheer the participants and help in the fund-raising process.”

Bhushan added : “As in the previous years, this year’s Lanson Toyota Car Fun Rally is also conceived and overseen by the Madras Motor Sports Club. The rally covers a distance of 50 kms and is expected to be covered in a time span of  150 minutes.

The rally comprises of 5 categories ... Novice, Regular, Toyota, Round Table & All Women. The rally is open to public for participation and the fee is Rs. 1500/- per participant car. We are confident that in the succeeding years, the participation will swell further and enable us to add more classrooms”.
