The smell will attract the maggots who will then crawl straight into the container and drown in the booze. Be sure to secure all the remains and dispose them off carefully.

What do Maggots Eat? And do Maggots bite?

Maggots can eat almost anything that is rotting away like - meat, fruits, vegetables and even living creatures. The methane gas released from these products is highly attractive to maggots and they will always find a way to their food source. Ironically, given the speed at what maggots eat they do not possess a set of teeth. Rather, they have modified mandibles called mouth hooks. Maggot have rough bumps on the surface of their body which helps them remove the dead tissue of decaying matter. Maggots also have a way of entering the human body and causing accidental myiasis, which can be very unpleasant.

The bottom line is that, unless you practice a healthy and hygienic lifestyle, maggots will always find a way back into your lives. Be sure to eliminate every source of item that can present as food to the maggots. The good news is that not all maggots feed on decaying matter or dead flesh. Nevertheless, a maggot infestation can definitely create havoc for your daily life to function normally.

GROHE Blue Home as the Kitchen Innovation of the Year 2017

GROHE Blue Home as the Kitchen Innovation of the Year 2017

Consumers have voted GROHE Blue Home as the Kitchen Innovation of the Year 2017. This accolade will definitely hold a special place for the sanitary manufacturer, given that this award comprises both a nomination round by a panel of expert judges and a concluding round in which consumers have the final say. Having scored the best results in the “kitchen sinks and faucets” category, the innovative and highly functional GROHE Blue Home water system garnered the prestigious “Golden Award Best of the Best” accolade.

“This is a fantastic result for GROHE Blue Home. All our products are designed to be user-friendly and add genuine value to people’s lives. Seeing consumers reward our efforts with this coveted accolade gives us great pride,” said Grohe AG CEO Michael Rauterkus. The nominated products were assessed on seven criteria in particular, namely operating comfort/functionality, product benefit, innovation, design, materials, ergonomics and ecology. GROHE Blue Home scored convincing results on all points. This modern drinking water system supplies filtered and chilled water with three selectable carbonation levels straight from a dedicated kitchen sink faucet, thereby obviating the need for industrialised water bottling as well as for driving to beverage stores and carrying heavy water crates. Compared to bottled water, the contribution to consumers’ carbon footprint can be shrunk by approximately 61 percent.

The award ceremony was staged on the occasion of Ambiente, the leading consumer goods show, in Frankfurt. Some 200 invited guests attended the event on February 11, marking the eleventh anniversary of the LifeCare initiative’s Kitchen Innovation of the Year award. The outstanding quality of the GROHE Blue Home water system is now also documented by this prestigious seal, which provides independent and trusted guidance for consumers.

Guest Bedrooms

Guest Bedrooms

We all have guests visiting us during Christmas, even if you’re not expecting guests you should still be ready for the unexpected guests like someone from your family turning up on christmas unannounced to surprise you, or a friend who comes over to greet you and with all the wine and festive cheer with you is unable to drive home. This makes it very important to have your guest bedroom ready to receive guests without a notice.

Tips to get your guest room up and ready for Christmas:

Change all the bed sheets, pillow covers, curtains etc. so that they’re clean and fresh.

Use a Vacuum cleaner to Vacuum and polish the guest room to freshen it up, if you don’t use this room very often. Rooms are not used for long time can gather dust, making them quite musty.

Clear the wardrobe, so that your guests can use it. Also clean your wardrobes, as these can be ideal places where mould breeds.

Kitchen

If you plan to host a big family Christmas dinner, then the kitchen will be the main part of your home. If your oven is not cleaned properly, it could affect the taste of the food you cook in it. See if oven cleaner works amazing to get your oven clean again. Do not start cleaning when the oven is hot.

Make sure you Clean your fridge of any wanted stuff like out-of-date food items. It’s important to empty your fridge so that you can have plenty of space to store your christmas delicacies.

No one likes a drink served in a dirty glass or food in an unclean plate, it’s very important that you make sure to get all your glassware clean before Christmas. Vinegar works like magic to clean glassware, don’t worry about the smell of vinegar, as it will go away when it dries.

Bathroom

Cleaning your bathrooms during your christmas preparation is as important as cleaning your bedroom. Clean your bathroom and make it as hygienic as possible. Your bathroom will be used more by your family and friends than your bedroom and maintaining a clean bathroom is vital to prevent the spread of germs. Cif Bathroom Spray and a toilet cleaning product from Domestos are amazing to ensure that your bathroom is clean and hygienic.

Living Room

Vacuuming your living room before Christmas will keep your home looking clean and fresh. VASTU TIPS FOR KITCHEN {Heart of the Home}

India 4 November 2016: Kitchen is a bonding area that not only ties your home together but also your loved ones. It is where the meals are created – which fuels the bodies, minds and souls of friends and families. Kitchen is not a sedate, quiet room rather it is filled with energy, aroma and texture. For most families, the kitchen serves as the central of the home and a second family room. Everyone seems to ‘Gather in the Kitchen’.

VASTU TIPS FOR KITCHEN {Heart of the Home}

VASTU TIPS FOR KITCHEN {Heart of the Home}

Ms. Aarti Sareen

Spending more time in your kitchen could also benefit your health and the health of your family. According to one Cambridge study, your longevity increases when you cook at home more frequently.

As the kitchen forms an integral part of the house, the science of Vastu can guide us to enhance the aura and tranquillity of the kitchen, It lays down certain basic rules for the design of the kitchen and prescribes a place for everything in it, as well as the rules for the person cooking the meal to ensure a healthy and happy life.

Following given are some of the Ideal Directions/Locations for Kitchen and other related Accessories:

The Kitchen: The ruling planet of the Kitchen is said to be Venus, while Fire is kitchen's ruling element.

Best direction for it is the South-East corner of the house as it is governed by the element of fire. If it is not possible then the northwest corner of the house is also good. Ensure that your kitchen doesn’t share a wall with the bathroom. In multi-storey buildings, it is important that the kitchen is never made below a bathroom or pooja room.

Colours: The colour of the floor and the walls of the kitchen may be yellow, orange, rose, chocolate or red. However, as far as possible, black should be avoided.

The Cooking Gas/Stove: It too should be in the South-East direction. The reason for that is in older days cooking was done on earthen cooking stove usually placed outside the house and building materials used were combustible in nature. The cooking fire was preferred in South east corner or the north west corner to avoid hot summer wind blowing from the south west or north east directions.

Cooking Direction: As the women get busy with kitchen chores from early morning, they don’t get a chance to get exposed to the health morning sun rays. So the best solution was to make them cook facing east direction.

Dining Table: If there is a dining table in the kitchen, it should be placed in the North-West or West direction.

Sinks and Taps: They indicate flowing water and  should be placed in the north-east direction i.e., away from the cooking stove as fire and water repel each other. In earlier days, when water for washing purposes was stored in open vessels, it was preferred in the N-E corner where the morning UV rays would kill the germs and keep the water and the surrounding are purified.

Dishwasher: It can be placed in the north west direction.

Windows: Larger windows in the kitchen should be made on the Eastern wall. Additional smaller windows can be in the South, for cross-ventilation as there is a lot of cooking fumes and odours, cross ventilation will ensure that the hot air exit out of the house and get replaced with fresh air from outside.

Electronic Appliances: Like; refrigerator, geyser, microwave etc. should be placed in the south east or south direction in the kitchen.

Cylinder: It should be placed in the Southeast corner.

Storage Cupboards: The storage for all the food grains, utensils, the over head cupboard should always be on the southern and the western walls, never on northern and the eastern walls.

Drinking water: Vessels like water filter, bottles, Jugs etc. should be placed in the north or north-east side.

SOME USEFUL REMEDIES:

The kitchen at night should be well cleaned and used utensils should be washed before sleeping. In order to harness the positive energy and the right vibes for your kitchen, it would be necessary for the kitchen to be spotless and clean, as much as possible. A dirty kitchen can interfere with work habits, reduce a person's chances of making good food; it can also suck your energy and make you less active.
There should be no leaking taps in the kitchen as it signifies loss of wealth.
A zero watt red coloured light bulb can be put up on the south east wall of the kitchen for financial growth.
A basket full of original/artificial fruits should be placed in the northern side of the kitchen as it shows abundance.
Place a vase of flowers/living plant on your kitchen table or windowsill as fresh flowers bring beautiful uplifting energy to your kitchen.
It is good to have a lot of green colour in the kitchen like green granite for flooring or green pictures, as this helps improve the appetite of the family members and are thought to be soothing, like a rainforest.
The kitchen is the best place for having meals especially with all the family members. It harbours feelings of happiness and harmony.
The kitchen should have several levels of proper lighting, be airy and spacious, clean, bright and welcoming.
The kitchen should be simple and not overloaded with gadgets.
