A traditional Maharashtrian fare awaits the guest on the occasion of Gudi Padwa at Saptami the multi-cuisine all day dining restaurant at Holiday Inn Mumbai International Airport, Sakinaka Andheri East.

Gudi Padva is the Sanskrit name for Chaitra Shukla Pratipada. It is celebrated on the first day of the Chaitra month to mark the beginning of the New year according to the lunisolar Hindu calendar. The word (pāḍavā) or (pāḍavo) comes from the Sanskrit word(pāḍḍavā/pāḍḍavo), which stands for the first day of the bright phase of the moon called (pratipadā) in Sanskrit.

Some of the mouthwatering non vegetarian preparations on the menu include mutton kolhapuri , murgh maratha, kolambi chi biryani etc.

The vegetarians can relish paneer kala rassa, batatachi bhaji, barleli vangi, kale chanyachi ussal, kathal ki subzi, subz handi laziz, dal varan, masala bhaat, etc.

Besides the live counter will have pasta, kheema kalegi pav and neer dosa and variety of chaats. A variety of desserts like rice kheer, malpua, shreekhand, gujiya and boondi laddo will be the part of the traditional fare. There will a lot of international desserts as well.

Saptami the multi-cuisine all day dining restaurant at Holiday Inn Mumbai International Airport will be celebrating the Holi the festival of colors. A special  Holi brunch consisting of thandai (special holi drink), puran poli and other festive food will be laid out by the executive chef, Sudhir Pai.

Holi is the spring festival of the country. The main day, Holi, also known as Dhuli Vandana in Sanskrit, is celebrated by people throwing colored powder and water at each other. Bonfires are lit the day before, also known as Holika Dahan (burning of Holika) or Chhoti Holi (little Holi).  The festival is celebrated at the end of the winter season on the last full moon day.

Some of the dishes on the menu include Murgh Sheshmehal Tikka, Roasted Chicken Chiilly,  Fish Koilwada, Mutton Roghanjosh, Chicken Tikka Masala , Hyderadabi Chicken Biryani With Salan, Slice Chicken In Soya Corriander Sauce,

Live pasta station, Mumbaiyya holi special chaat counter, (Kanji Ke Vade / Methi Mathri / Shakarpara), Tawa Khada Pulav will be some other attractions of the brunch.

Options are available for the patrons to go for a sea food dinner buffet or ala carte. Fresh catch will also be kept on display. The buffet will be decorated with fisherman basket, nets, oar etc.

Be it deep sea lobster or mud crabs, tiger prawns or pan seared scallops, Norwegian Salmon Steak or King Pomfret, they are dying to get consumed in the most literal sense. Each coastal delicacy can be prepared with multiple options. You can have lobster cooked in garlic butter or chili garlic. Else you can have it thermidor which is double cream, mustard, mushroom, brandy and cheddar.

The mud crabs can be feasted with Chinese style or the desi Manglorean and Chettinad style. Similarly the Tiger prawns can be relished as tandori or in garlic butter sauce or chili prawns. The Norwegian Salmon and Pomfret can be grilled or tandoor  according to your taste and instructions.

From a Curry Leaf Mozhito  (Curry leaf puree, white rum, mint, lemon, ice, sugar and soda) to  Kokum Sour (Mix of Kokum & orange, sweet & sour) you can find a south Indian touch. Similarly  Pepper chicken pancakes i.e. Kerala iron wok tossed pepper chicken with coconut wrapped in English style pancakes served with rasam mayo to a Chettinad Chicken Pizza, the starters also have the same feel.  Spaghetti with Kerala style lamb mince and Lasagne Mix vegetable Poriyal which is Lasagne interlayered with typical porial style vegetables served with curry leaf, chilli tomato sauce are some of the other dishes inspired with this concept.

If someone is looking for Malbari seafood risotto that is also there and so is Kozhi Anna Marie- a grilled chicken breast served with coconut cream volute sauté vegetables and lemon rice.

The Executive Chef Sudhir Pai has prepared a Onam Sadhya menu which will be served between  Sep 14 and Sep 16 during lunch hours.

 The restaurant will be decorated with a rangoli at the entrance and a traditional lamp. Traditional music will also be played. The staff will be dressed in south Indian mundu and veshti. The hostess will be wearing traditional saris.

Some of the vegetarian dishes on the menu include Avial (Mixed vegetables in tempered coconut gravy), Erissery (Pumpkin and raw banana), Olan (Ash gourd, pumkin and red lentil coconut stew), Kalan,Long Beans Thoran, Koottukari, Sambhar. Saptami invites Chef Ram Prasad from Jaipur for Rajashthani Food festival


India 17 August 2016: Saptami the multi-cuisine all day dining restaurant at Holiday Inn Mumbai International Airport, Sakinaka, Andheri East has invited Chef Ram Prasad from Jaipur to showcase traditional Rajasthani gastronomical delights. The Rajasthani Food Festival will begin from Aug 19 and will continue till Aug 28.

Chef Ram Prasad hails from Jaipur and started his career from the famed "Choki Dhani" Rajasthani themed Park, well-known in India and a must visit landmark in Jaipur. He learned the nuances of cooking from renowned chefs like Karan Singh Rathore, Wardhuram Gurjar and Ramzan Khan. An accomplish chef he prefers doing things his way and is proficient in dealing with variety of meats as well as vegetables. His dexterity lies in presenting Rajputi and Marwari palate with his distinct and subtle techniques.

The chef will be carrying his own spices and other authentic ingredients to ensure that perfect taste. Some of the stuff which the chef is carrying with him includes local chilli powder,  yellow chilli powder,  Shekavati masala, dry Mathania chilly, local pickles, ker, sangdi etc.

The soups in the cyclical menu include Papad Mangodi Ka Shorba, Murgh Bajrey Ki Raab . The starters will consist of  Kankar Kabab (Roasted Moong Dal), Chatpata Aloo, Murgh Sitara, Roti Pay Boti etc.

Mumbai 4 July 2016: Saptami the multi-cuisine all day dining restaurant at Holiday Inn Mumbai International Airport, Sakinaka, Andheri East will be celebrating Eid ul Fitr. Executive Chef Sudhir Pai has prepared a special Eid buffet which will be served between July 7 and July 11 during dinner.

Eid, popularly known as Eid-ul-Fitr, is a festival observed by the Muslim community to celebrate the conclusion of the month of fasting. Eid-ul-Fitr literally means 'festival of breaking the fast'. Like other festivals, Eid-ul-Fitr is also observed with great enthusiasm. Delicious food and drinks are an indispensable part of the festivity. People decorate  their houses and prepare  traditional sweets and cuisines to celebrate the festival. The most common recipe in this festival is the delicious meethi seviyan (Sweet Vermicelli) prepared from various healthy and mouth-watering ingredients.

The menu will consist of several types of kebabs such as Galouti Kebab, Murg Aangarey, Chapli Kebab, Shikampuri Kebab, Gilafi Seekh, Paneer Achari, Roti Pe Boti, Chooza Murg. The main course will have dishes such as Murg Quorma, Nalli Nihari, Mutton Qaliya, Awadhi Murgh,  Haleem,   Machli Ka salan. The first drink is called Bhuni Aam Adraki which is prepared by roasting the raw mango on the gas stove from all sides and adding jaggery and ginger to it.

Similarly another cooler Imlidana (Tamarind) Neer is made with tamarind concentrate, pomegranate juice, lime juice, cardamom powder and brown sugar.


As Cool As A Cucumber has cucumber, khus syrup, black salt, ginger juice, honey and mint leaves and is light green in colour. Tarbooz (Watermelon) Aur Pudina Ka Mel is prepared with mint sprig, watermelon black salt, ginger juice and honey.

There are more than 100 varieties of mangos in India. Alphonso mango are considered as one of the best in terms of sweetness, richness and flavor.


A wonderful menu has been prepared which consists of various desserts and ice creams. Some of the items on the menu include Mango Cheese Cake  (king fruit, tossed in mint & cardamom blended in Phil cheese traditionally baked, Mango Éclair (diced Alphonso folded in a rich pastry cream folded in traditional pate choux), Mango Tart Eggless Cubes of king fruit baked with rich frangipane mixture topped with loads of luscious mouth watering fruit, Mango Mousse (eggless & sugar free), Mangoes pepped with cinnamon & white chocolate mousse topped with mango & basil salsa, fresh mangoes plain or with vanilla ice cream, Aamrakhand (fresh mango and hung yoghurt dessert flavoured with saffron and cardamom), Fresh mango milkshake,  lassi and Fresh mango juice.
